It was fascinating to see how the aspects tied into the Obama-Clinton debate Thursday night. As I pointed out in my previous article, Obama’s progressed Sun at 27 Virgo 59 in his 11th house of politics is trining his progressed Jupiter at 27 Capricorn 20 R in his 3^rd house of communication. In January, when Mercury and the Sun came up to 27 degrees of Capricorn, as well as the middle of this month when Venus came up to this degree to emphasize this trine, he remained in the spotlight; building even more momentum in this run for the presidency.

It is interesting that when the debate started, the ascendant for the city of Austin Texas was at 11Virgo 25. As the time moved on, and the degrees moved up, Barrack looked more and more confident. In fact, he was looking very commander-in-chiefish when they were discussing this very point, about the time the ascendant was approaching 27 degrees of Virgo and trining his Jupiter in the commander-in chief sign of Capricorn.

It is also interesting to see how his progressed Virgo Sun played out. As Hillary gave a broad overview about most of her positions, Barrack not only stated his positions, but went on to give specific details on how he would handle them. If you remember, he would say “point one” “point two” etc.; very Virgoish. 

Hillary also showed her fixed Scorpio Sun in the discussion of the changing situation in Cuba. She said of Raoul Castro: "I would not meet with him until there was evidence that change was happening, because I think it's important that they demonstrate clearly that they are committed to change the direction. Then I think, you know, something like diplomatic encounters and negotiations over specifics could take place." Spoken like a true controlling Scorpio, I thought. And this attitude has certainly got us nowhere with Cuba in the last 50 years or so!

On the other hand, Barrack said “I would meet with other foreign leaders, including Castro's successor, Raoul Castro, without preconditions." But he also added “there has to be preparation before such a meeting.” His progressed Virgo Sun showing again-emphasizing “preparation.”

In their closing statements, Hillary finally hit a home run with how well she related to others. The ascendant in Austin had finally left Virgo, and just entered Libra, allowing her to finally have a strong impact on her audience.
