Now that John McCain has picked the little

known Sarah Palin to be his Vice President,

we need to look at her chart to see what her

prospects might be. She was born on

February 11, 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho: time

unknown. I have constructed a triple chart,

with the inner wheel the natal chart-the middle wheel is the relocated progressed chart, and the outer

wheel is for the transits at 9 PM in

Minneapolis; at which time she makes her

speech. It is interesting that also tonight

Saturn conjuncts the Sun exactly at that time,

so she has to come across as a serious and competent contender.

The most intriguing thing about this whole scenario is that McCain announced his choice on August 29th, which happens to be his birthday, while the Sun at 6 degrees of Virgo then conjoined Sarah's progressed retrograde Uranus at that degree. So much for the unexpected surprise!  I generated a chart for 12 PM for Sarah, as that is halfway between where the planets could possibly be for that day. So for example, the fast moving Moon is anywhere from 25 Capricorn 28 to 8 Aquarius 08.

Neptune is conjunct her Sun at 22 Aquarius, and for a noon chart  it conjoins her midheaven exactly. Hence, the unknown facts about her dribbling out little by little.

Her four and possibly five planets in the political sign of Aquarius certainly gives her a gift for the field, and tells us that she will be a force to reckon with in the future! However her chart reveals that she has an uphill battle ahead of her. For example, her natal and progressed Neptune at 17 Scorpio in her 6th house of work form aT-square to the transiting nodes at 17 Leo and Aquarius in the 9th and 3rd houses. The sign of Leo rules children, so this ties into the situation of her 17 year old high school daughter being pregnant.

Furthermore, John McCain's progressed Sun is at 17 Scorpio 01,which conjoins Palin's Neptune at that degree. So perhaps this is  why he didn't tell us about the situation at the very beginning!

Sarah's progressed Jupiter at 26 Aries 14 squares her progressed ascendant at 26 Cancer which relates to the question of taking on a huge job at a distance and how that would disrupt her family situation.

Her progressed Sun at 6 Aries 45 forms a T-square to her progressed nodes at 6 Cancer and Capricorn which reaffirms that statement. 

But perhaps the most challenging aspect is transiting retrograde Pluto at 28 Sagittarius 30 in her 7th house squares her progressed Mars at 28 Pisces 23 in the 11th, political house. And if she was indeed born around noon, her progressed Moon at 28 Virgo turns this aspect into aT-square. 

John McCain's chart also shows some challeging aspects also.

Transiting retrograde Uranus at 21 Pisces  02 squares his progressed Venus at 21 Sagittarius 15. And if you want to add his natal Venus to the mix, it forms aT-square. Furthermore, his progressed retrograde Saturn at 15 Pisces 52 squares his natal Jupiter at 15 Sagittarius at 15 Sagittarius 05. And finally his progressed Mars at 26 Virgo 59 in his 12th house of disappointment forms a T-square to progressed nodes at 26 Sagittarius 19 and Gemini. The question then is, can Sarah Palin get him into the White House? At this point, it looks like..so far, so good!
