The sports world was taken by surprise today, as Brett Favre, the sensational and beloved Green Bay Packer quarterback for the last 17 years caught everyone off guard, and announced that he is retiring. Most everyone was under the impression that he was going to continue to play, at least for one more year. 

Brett was born on October 10,1969 at 2:35 PM in Pass Christian, MS. I have generated a natal chart, with the transits for the time of the announcement in the outer wheel.

Because this chart has been condensed, keep in mind that the Sun and Jupiter are actually in his 9th house, and Neptune is in the 10th.

 We should have seen this coming, as his natal Mercury  at 00 Libra 22 is getting the square from transiting Pluto at 00 Capricorn 56, and Mars entered Cancer today and is at 00 Cancer 04, forming a T-square. And the empty end of the T-square is Aries, (action and energy) and he said he is just plain tired, and doesn't have the umpth to do all of the necessary training that staying in shape to play requires.

Besides that, notice that the transiting nodes at 26 degrees and 58 minutes of Aquarius and Leo T-square his natal Neptune at 26 Scorpio 59 in his 10 house of career. Transiting Uranus at 18 Pisces 24 is approaching his natal north node at 19 Pisces 38; and don't forget, the effects of Uranus usually work early. There is a stellium of planets in Aquarius right now, with transiting Mercury at 17 Aquarius trining his natal Sun at 17 Libra 19. So I think he is choosing to be free in order to be able to do more spontaneous and pleasurable  things with his wife and daughters.

As a former Wisconsinite, and  cheesehead, this is a very sad day for me personally, as I'm sure it is for all other Green Bay Packer fans!
